Poverty in developing world declining thanks to mobile phones

Contrary to the past, one billion people living in the developing world will now have access to a personal bank account thanks to their mobile phone. Companies such as M-Pesa which provide money transferring services via mobile phone are now partnering with banks globally in order to offer their subscribers a savings account that can be managed via their handheld device. A new kind of income is created as people can now gain interest from the money deposited. This brings us one step further in decreasing poverty on a global scale.
